USGS geographer John Barras and scientist Brian Perez were interviewed October 21 by WWL-TV (New Orleans) about hurricane impacts and wetland loss along the Gulf Coast.

USGS geographer John Barras was interviewed about wetland loss after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita for the PBS program NOW which is scheduled to air October 21.

USGS scientist/pilot Tommy Michot was interviewed October 19 by Times-Picayune reporter Bob Marshall as they flew over the marshes and cheniers of southwest Louisiana and the Atchafalaya River Delta. They viewed the impacts of Hurricane Rita on birds and wetland habitats. Michot was also interviewed on October 20 by the Baton Rouge Advocate about the impacts of Hurricane Rita.
