Tsitsi Dangarembga discusses "Poetry, Peace, Good Governance and Security"
Harare: January 8, 2013. Tsitsi Dangaremba was recently honored as the Special Guest at Brown University’s 4th Chinua Achebe Colloquium on Africa in December 2012. There she presented on the topic “Poetry, Peace, Good Governance and Security.” On January 8, 2013 she shared her experiences and portions of the presentation with a Food For Thought audience. Her stories ranged from the first time she met Chinua Achebe in 1984, to experiences as a filmmaker and author, and she answered questions about the role of culture in society and politics while assessing its accessibility in Zimbabwe. This podcast was recorded following that session. Ms. Dangaremba is the Director and Founder of the Institute of Creative Arts for Progress in Africa Trust, which incorporates Women Filmmakers of Zimbabwe and Nyerai Films.
