Peter O. Ogunbiyi, D.V.M., Ph.D., is a Program Director in the Diversity Training Branch within the Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities for the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Dr. Ogunbiyi manages research supplements, co-manages the Minority Institution/Cancer Center Partnership program, and administers the co-funding and management of the Minority Biomedical Research Support efforts of the branch.

Prior to his appointment at the NCI, Dr. Ogunbiyi was in academia for over 20 years. He has held faculty positions at Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria; Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama; Clayton College and State University; and Southern Polytechnic State University, Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Ogunbiyi was active in teaching, research and student training for careers in biomedical sciences. He has also been a recipient of several research grants and a collaborator in several institutional and program grants.

Dr. Ogunbiyi received a B.S. in Biochemistry and his D.V.M. from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmacology/ Toxicology from the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. His post-doctoral training in biochemical pharmacology and toxicology was at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Virginia Polytechnic and State University, Blacksburg, VA.

Dr. Ogunbiyi is well published in the area of molecular and biochemical bases of free radical-induced injuries and their pharmacological modulation.
