Services Provided
- All outpatient services are by scheduled appointment.
- Nurses are assigned to designated providers to assist in the preventive screenings and assist with messages to the providers, administrative paperwork, making appointments for patients and patient teaching.
- Routine and 72-hour consults are triaged by the Flight Commander's designated physician.

- A1C blood screening (due at least yearly, or more frequently if the A1C result is > 7% for all diabetics). A1C goal determined by collaboration between patient and physician
- Fasting Lipid Profile blood screening (due at least yearly, or more frequently if the LDL-C is > 100 mg/dl for all diabetics). LDL-C goal is determined by collaboration between patient and physician
- Microalbumin spot urine screening (due yearly)
- Foot Check (visual inspection at due at every clinic visit, full foot assessment due yearly)
- Retinal exam (due yearly, ages 18-75) - Call your Primary Care Provider (PCM) and have them place a referral in the system for an eye exam. Once the order is entered into the system, the WHASC Ophthalmology Department will contact patient to schedule appointment.

- Cervical Cancer (pap) screening (due every 5 years, ages 24 -64) by doing one of the following:
- Call the GYN Clinic to obtain an appointment - (210) 292-2778. If the patient calls on a daily basis they can probably get a "space available" appointment pretty quickly. Otherwise, the GYN clinic is booking 2-3 months out.
- Contact CAMO, 210-916-9900, to obtain an appointment with a provider at another MTF in the San Antonio area.
- Make an appointment with any of the TRICARE in-network providers. A list of providers can be found on the Humana Military website or by calling 1-800-444-5445. No referral is necessary for this wellness screenings.
- Breast Cancer screening (due every 2 years; but the American Cancer Soc. and the WHASC recommend an annual screening for women ages 40 - 69) by doing one of the following:
- o Call your Primary Care Provider (PCM) and have them place an order in the system for a mammogram. Once the order is entered into the system, the WHASC Radiology Department will contact patient to schedule appointment.
- Make an appointment with any of the TRICARE in-network providers. A list of providers can be found on the Humana Military website or by calling 1-800-444-5445. No referral is necessary for this wellness screenings.
- Colon Cancer screening (Colonoscopy due every 10 yrs, OR Flex Sigmoid due every 5 yrs, OR Fecal Occult Blood Test due annually for men and women; ages 51-75) by doing one of the following:
- Call your Primary Care Provider (PCM) and have them place a referral in the system for a consult to Gastrology. Once the referral is entered into the system, WHASC Gastroenterology Clinic will contact patient to schedule appointment.
- Make an appointment with any of the TRICARE in-network providers. A list of providers can be found on the Humana Military website or by calling 1-800-444-5445. No referral is necessary for this wellness screenings
