EKG Laboratory

The Cardiology Flight supports electrocardiographic recording and analysis for Region 6. Any EKG recorded within the region is sent by modem into our computers, analyzed by our cardiology staff, and a report is returned to the requesting provider. Holter monitor and signal averaging services are also provided by the EKG laboratory.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinic

We are committed to the rehabilitation of cardiovascular patients. The program is a multi-factorial process that is designed to limit the adverse physiological and psychological effects of cardiac illness, to reduce the risk of sudden death or reinfarction, to control cardiac symptoms, to stabilize or reverse the atherosclerotic process, and to enhance the patient's psychological and vocational status.

Cardiovascular Research Department

The Cardiovascular Research Department at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center was established in 1985. In 1996, we completed our 100th clinical trial. Wilford Hall is a large teaching institution. Services are available to all active duty personnel and their dependents. With 18 cardiology fellows, the fellowship program has strong research requirements and all are actively involved in research projects. Much of our research has been conducted in conjunction with most of the major pharmaceutical companies. We can ensure success due to a history of rapid enrollment, highly compliant volunteers, and a proven track record conducting clinical trials for drugs and devices. Our research staff includes dedicated principal investigators from the Wilford Hall Cardiology staff and research nurses.
