The 460th Space Wing Staff Judge Advocate's mission is to provide support and act as legal counsel to the 460th SW commander.

The members of the "JAG" team consist of highly qualified and educated attorneys and paralegals that serve Buckley's unit commanders and first sergeants in the proper handling of military justice, adverse administrative legal issues, operations law, environmental law, contracts, labor, ethics, and legal opinions. The legal office staff also provides personal legal assistance to all active duty, National Guard and Reserve members on Title 10 orders as well as retirees with valid military identification cards. The Office of the Staff Judge Advocate strives to provide the Buckley Air Force Base community with quality legal services such as powers of attorney, wills, claims, notary services, tax preparation, general family and preventative law or legal assistance.
tabLegal Assistance
The professionals at your base legal office are trained and qualified to offer you legal services as a part of your benefits. The legal office cannot provide legal assistance via the telephone.

The Air Force Legal Assistance Web site offers basic information on legal assistance topics that commonly affect military members such as consumer/financial affairs, family law, Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) and the Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA). It is recommended that you review the information listed on the Web site for your particular issue prior to speaking to an attorney.

Legal assistance is available Monday through Thursday by appointment. We also offer walk-in hours every Thursday from 1-3 p.m. for non-will legal services only.

Military members facing any administrative or punitive actions should contact the Area Defense Counsel at 720-847-6934.
tabWills
Benjamin Franklin said there is nothing more certain than death and taxes. With that in mind, if you own property or have children and want control over what happens to both after your death, you should have a will.

If you die without a valid will, state law provides for choosing your executor, division of your assets, and selection of a guardian for your children. Your desires and direction are missing.

Your home state will distribute your assets according to a formula set forth in its law (usually to the next of kin). This usually doesn't give your spouse everything and may not provide for your children in the manner you want, especially if you want to include step children.

Before scheduling an appointment to complete a will, advanced medical directive or power-of-attorney, please visit the Air Force Legal Assistance Web site. This site will allow you to complete online legal worksheets for expedited service. A ticket number will be generated from the site once you've complete the appropriate worksheets. Please call (720) 847-6444 to schedule an appointment. Please have your ticket number available when you call our office for an appointment.
tabClaims
Your base legal office also provides claims services similar to civilian insurance companies. The majority of claims we handle are those involving damages to personal property caused during shipment. Our experienced paralegals will guide you through the claims filing process and answer any questions you have.
