The Educational Advisor provides a comprehensive array of resources and services to Eritreans who wish to study in the United States. No fee is charged for these services. The Educational Advisor can assist prospective students for undergraduate, graduate, professional, doctoral, secondary and specialized English language study.

The center can assist students in assessing their qualifications for admission and for scholarships but neither the Center nor the Embassy have any influence on admission decisions.

Individual Advising:

Every Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.

Group Advising:

The first and third Wednesday of every month: 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 

The American Center is closed on all American and Eritrean holidays.

Services we provide: 

  1. Professional advice about the American system of education and the admission process.
  2. Group sessions with an introduction to the structure of American higher education and information on the application process. All applicants must attend a group session before making individual appointments with the Educational Advisor.
  3. Information on undergraduate, graduate, short-term/non-degree opportunities available in the United States.
  4. Information on scholarships, fellowships and grants.
  5. Reference materials and information booklets on standardized tests (TOEFL, SATGRE, GMAT). 

We do not:

  1. Order college applications or catalogs for individual use.
  2. Provide college reference or recommendation letters.
  3. Provide scholarships or any other type of funding.
  4. Provide information unrelated to study in the United States.

The Educational Advising Center does not offer scholarships, nor do we guarantee anyone admission to a university or college nor can we guarantee that anyone will qualify for a visa.
