Media Educational Exchange Program for Georgian Journalists

Georgian journalists interested in a study/internship program next summer in the United States - funded by the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi - are invited to apply to the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), based in Washington, D.C.

The 2013 program is intended for media managers, editors and producers of Georgian broadcast and print media who are looking for their first exposure to U.S. media practices. Two weeks of study tour in U.S. includes trainings on basic as well as specialized skills – including production management, content management, multimedia management, editorial responsibilities, organizational management (sales/marketing, human resources management), etc. Other sessions provide discussions with government, media and business leaders, as well as site visits to media outlets, and government and research organizations. Interpreters will be provided, so that non-English-speakers may attend. For the internship portion of the program, ICFJ will select three English-speaking Georgian journalists for three-week stays at U.S. media outlets, and two non-English-speaking journalists for two weeks at other media outlets, with interpreters.
The application deadline is January 15, 2013.
