Non-Immigrant Visas

Information on Visas for the United States

The Consular Section issues visas for Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu residents to visit the United States. A visa constitutes permission to apply for entry to the United States at the port of entry, where the immigration officer will determine admittance and length of stay. All Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu residents need visas in order to apply for entrance to the United States. Visas are issued in accordance with the Immigration and Naturalization Act, as amended, enacted by the United States Congress. The Consular Section provides visa services only on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Issued visas will generally be ready for pickup the following day. As of May 1st, 2010, all applicants must have submitted their application electronically prior to the day of their interview. Further information is available in the “How to Apply” Section.
