Seminar for school newspaper editors in Kassel

The U.S. Consulate General, the Hesse Center for Political Education and the Jugendpresse Hessen e.V. jointly organized a seminar in English on "The United States Under President Obama" for school newspaper editors at the youth hostel in Kassel.  Three experts, two of them American, discussed the meaning of the election of Barack Obama as president, the core elements and implementation of his domestic and foreign policy agenda as well as the opposition he had been facing in Congress, from lobbies, as well as from parts of the media and the general public.  The young journalists also had the opportunity to follow up on the various topics in smaller discussion groups, to deal with technical aspects of journalistic work and to work on an article, the best one of which is publicized here:
