Visa Renewal Assistant
Repeat travelers to the United States may qualify to renew their visas without appearing for an interview. Before continuing, please ensure that you meet the following conditions:
· Your most recent U.S. visa was issued in Addis Ababa.
· You are physically present in Ethiopia. An application cannot be sent by international mail.
· Your previous passport and visa were not lost or stolen.
In order for us to properly process your request, please complete all of the fields below:
Important Note: The use of the visa renewal service does not guarantee visa issuance. In some cases, applicants may still be required to appear for a visa interview at the Embassy or Consulate. Examples of this include incomplete and/or inaccurate applications.
In order to renew your visa, you will need to come to the Embassy so that we may update your fingerprints. So that we may be prepared for your application please provide us with the following information:

This letter confirms that you are eligible to renew your visa without an appointment. Please come to the US Embassy between 08:00 am and 11:00 am on a Monday or Wednesday between and excluding American and Ethiopian holidays. If you are
unable to come during these times, please contact us at AddisNIVRenewal@state.gov. If you have not completed your application by
Thursday, June 14th, 2012 your application will be deleted.
Each applicant must provide the following documentation:
1. DS-160 confirmation page.
2. Application fee receipt. Attach the original receipt to the application confirmation page. Note: This payment is mandatory and not refundable under any circumstances.
3. Include a valid passport.
4. Attach one recent ID photograph 5cm x 5cm
· If your file is incomplete, it will be returned.
· Renewal applications are not guaranteed visa issuances. Consular officers reserve the right to interview you personally here at the Embassy
B1/B2 visa applicants: must provide a letter of explanation outlining the reasons they are applying for the B1/B2 visa.
C1D or I visa applicants: must provide a letter of employment on the company letterhead.
F, J or M visa applicant: must provide the original I-20/DS-2019/DS-7002 and SEVIS fee receipt.
H, L, O, P, Q visa applicants: must include I-797 petitions or official notifications.
Failure to provide all the required documents will delay the processing of a visa application.
