One of Baghdad’s best known and most active cultural venues is the Madarat Gallery. Located in Al Wazeereia, Baghdad. Madarat provides a space for Iraqi artists to display their talent in addition to hosting various workshops, festivals, and exhibitions. The owner of Madarat, Hasan Nassar, is also a very influential Iraqi plastic artist and heads the cultural non-governmental organization Attitudes. Madarat is the first gallery in Iraq to sell art work online through its website www.artiniraq.net.  The gallery has been featured in articles in the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times. Recently, Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer Russell Brooks paid a visit to Madarat. For more information on the gallery, you may send inquiries to infor@artiniraq.net.
