Deputy Chief of Mission Ian McCary

A career Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. Department of State, Ian McCary served most recently as Political/Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Tunis, departing in June, 2012.  His previous Foreign Service assignments include Baghdad, Rabat, Cairo, Jakarta, and Washington.  He holds a Master's Degree from Georgetown University and a Bachelor's Degree from Boston University. He speaks Arabic and French.  

He and his wife have three children.
