The Consular Section’s American Citizen Services Unit (ACS) welcomes you to Chile and reminds you that serving the interests of U.S. citizens is our top priority.  We urge you to sign up with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).  This can now be easily done on-line through this site without having to visit the Embassy in person.  Enroll now to stay connected to home while traveling or living overseas.

The ACS Unit provides a wide range of services to U.S. citizens traveling or living in Chile including passport issuance, registration of birth, notary and authentication services and assistance in case of death, arrest, welfare and whereabouts, destitution, crime and other similar emergencies.  Additionally, ACS can help you with Federal Benefits issues.  We also provide an array of useful information including absentee voting, IRS, Selective Service System, general information about Chilean visa requirements and more.  We invite you to click on FAQs to learn more about our services.

Appointment System 

The ACS Unit provides services on an appointment basis for non-emergency services. Appointments must be scheduled in advance on-line, except in case of an emergency.
