Fulbright Association of Honduras (AFH)

Founded in June 1990, the Fulbright Association of Honduras is formed by more than 100 members, who carried out higher education studies in the United States thanks to a Fulbright scholarship. Named after Senator J. William Fulbright, the Fulbright scholarships are one of the most prestigious international exchange programs between United States and the rest of the world.

In Honduras, more than six hundred former Fulbright fellows have developed brilliant professional careers in the fields of research, teaching, politics, small and large businesses and in other areas that prompt the development of Honduras.

Since its creation, the Fulbright Association of Honduras (AFH) has worked with the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, personal donations, the private sector, private universities and the Central Bank of Honduras through "Una Beca Más" a scholarship program that offers educational opportunities to youth, particularly low income and talented students through English and higher education scholarships.

Since 2009 more than 57 high school students have received scholarships to study English and around 60 outstanding students are currently attending their undergraduate studies at the Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC) thanks to "Una Beca Mas."
