Multimedia Services
The Joint Base San Antonio Multimedia Center is a progressive and innovative visual information support center providing world class service and products in the areas of digital photography, graphics, multimedia and self-help to the JBSA and 502nd ABW military community. Turnaround times vary with type of product requested.

Photo Lab Services
The photo lab provides a wide range of photographic services, including printing, studio, on-location and documentation, copying, digital imaging, and self help photography. The photo section has a variety of photos of base historical events, buildings, aircrafts, etc. for use in briefings. These photo files can be digitized to transportable disks or sent via email network server. Turnaround times vary with production requirements but most products are produced normally within three to five working days.
Some examples of location photography are:
· Award ceremonies
· Retirements
· Unit mission briefings
· Award ceremonies
· Basewide events for publicity
*For passports, an authorized passport agent at the base Passport Office must sign the form.
Studio official portraits are by appointment only, Monday through Thursday
· Contact your local multimedia office for scheduling times.
Strict adherence to standards of dress and appearance is essential in achieving an excellent photograph. It's the customer's responsibility to ensure uniforms and clothing is correctly prepared. Please be sure awards and decorations ornaments are current and correct.
If a photographer is unavailable, small digital auto-focus self-help cameras are available for official use, on a first come-first served basis. The photo lab can process and print/re-print photos specified by the customer.
An AF Form 833 must be received prior to any multimedia work. |

The video services division provides documentary and production videos supporting operational, investigative, historical, senior leadership communication, mission awareness and news release.
Our services include:
· Video Productions (Training, Educational, Service Announcements)
· Video Documentation (Training, Educational, and one time occurrences)
· Broadcast News Stories
· Live Broadcast of Events
· Self-help Video Duplication (CD-R, DVD, VHS, and Mini DV)
Video services can be requested using an AF IMT 833. Support for multi-base, command, service or DOD-wide use requires further documentation and higher approval. Guidance and assistance in this process will be provided to the requestor. |

The Graphics staff provides expertise in original conceptions for all your graphics needs, and can also enhance customers' artwork.
Examples of desktop publishing services provided include:
· Scan and copy photographic images and artwork
· Transfer images electronically
· Convert slide and images to various file formats (jpeg, tif, psd, eps, pcx, and gif)
· Photo CD imaging--scan/write images, text, graphics to compact disc
· Print images/graphics and photography from 2in. x 2in. to 40in. x 60in.
We provide self-help equipment as follows:
· Still cameras
· Video cameras
· Self-help still photo printing and video editing capabilities
An AF Form 833 must be received prior to any work being done. |

Although we are customer-oriented service, there are limits to the products and services we can provide due to AFI 35-109, public law and local policy.
· Souvenirs, personal gifts, mementos, scrapbooks, farewell gifts, office pictures and other items for personal use are unauthorized. Chain of command prints below Squadron Commander are not authorized.
· PA resources are not authorized to document farewell parties or social events unless certified as newsworthy or have historical value.
· PA resources are not authorized to create products used for entertainment during farewell parties or social events.
· Copyrighted materials cannot be reproduced without permission of the copyright holder, unless cleared in writing as "fair use" by the legal office.
· PA imagery is not altered IAW DODI 5040.05, Alteration of Official DOD imagery unless exempted.
· Use of PA for MWR programs and other activities that involve revenue generating activities is not authorized.
