Memorandum on Jobs and the Economy

In 2010, I released a detailed memorandum on the steps that we should take in Washington to help encourage private sector job growth. I’ve updated and revised this memo to reflect what we’ve done in the House, some of the things we’ve worked on with the President, and the many things we still need to do. With unemployment at 9 percent, our first priority in Congress has to be helping the unemployed and job creators. Some of the things we need to do include continuing assistance for the unemployed, reforming our tax code, balancing our budget, and reducing the cost of energy. Legislators have to work together to find areas of agreement now. We can’t wait until after the next election. Click below to read.
