Research Platforms

A variety of NOAA research platforms are used to conduct research in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, including:

R/V Fulmar (65 foot vessel) DeHavilland Twin Otter (DHC-6) (65 foot wing span)

NOAA Ship McArthur II (224 foot vessel) P/B Shark Cat (30 foot vessel)

Regionally-owned and operated research platforms, including submersibles, large and small vessels, and aircraft are also available for use.
