Landscape Conservation Cooperatives for Alaska

Alaska – Part of a National Network
Landscape conservation cooperatives (LCCs) are applied conservation science partnerships between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other federal agencies, states, tribes, NGOs, universities and stakeholders within a geographically defined area. They are intended to be true cooperatives, formed and directed by their partner agencies and organizations. While the State of Alaska has been an integral partner in the development of the Arctic and Western Alaska LCCs, they have declined to participate on the steering committees of the Aleutian and Bering Sea Islands and the Northwestern Interior Forest LCCs. Visit the Service’s National LCC web site to learn more about the 22 LCCs across the nation.

Landscape Conservation Cooperative in Alaska is a quarterly newsletter to share information about LCCs within Alaska and provide updates on their accomplishments.
