About the Program

The Parkinson's Disease Research, Education, and Clinical Center (PADRECC) Consortium Center at Cincinnati VA Medical Center serves as a nationwide referral center providing comprehensive care to patients with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.

The Center specializes in applying advanced research and state-of-the-art clinical expertise to the treatment of —

  • Parkinson's disease
  • essential tremor
  • dystonia
  • other movement disorders

Services Offered

Services offered by the Center include —

  • extensive neurological evaluation to determine if a patient is an appropriate candidate for surgical treatment
  • systematic pre-operative testing of patients deemed to be candidates for surgical treatment
  • referral for surgical treatment to PADRECC center
  • inpatient and outpatient comprehensive clinical care for Parkinson disease as well as other movement disorders (such as essential tremor, Huntington disease, dystonia)
  • botulinum toxin injections for focal dystonias
