About the New Jersey Water Science Center

The New Jersey Water Science Center (NJ WSC) is one of 48 Water Science Centers in the Water Resources Discipline of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The Water Science Center's mission is to collect, analyze, and disseminate reliable scientific information to describe and understand the Earth; minimize loss of life and property from natural hazards; and manage water resources for the people of the United States and the State of New Jersey.

The NJ WSC has a long history of excellence in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of hydrologic and related data. By providing relevant water data and interpretation when and where it is needed, the NJ WSC has successfully helped water managers at the National, State and local levels to achieve their management goals in addressing the critical water issues of New Jersey.
