Online Submission Overview

Help | Tutorial Help With This Page Help With This Page

ERIC is actively seeking individual submissions of high-quality education-related materials for inclusion in the ERIC database. Types of materials appropriate for individual submission include research reports, conference papers and presentations, and dissertations and theses. ERIC does not accept lesson plans, blogs, or individual Web pages.

You may submit appropriate materials, for which you hold copyright (see Copyright Guidelines), through the Online Submission system available in My ERIC. Documents produced by U.S. Department of Education contractors and grantees should also be submitted in this manner. The Institute of Education Sciences' IES Policy Regarding Access to Public Research describes the type of government-funded material required to be submitted to ERIC and the process for doing so.

This easy-to-use system leads you through a brief series of screens to submit your materials with an abstract. Before submitting your material, please have the following items prepared:

  • File containing your submission. File must be in the format of .pdf, .txt, .doc, or .rtf (see Submission Guidelines).
  • The first page of your document must include the title, author name(s), and publication date. ERIC cannot accept materials without this identifying information; for conference papers, provide the name, date and location of the conference.
  • Optional files (e.g.,PowerPoint slides). Note: Presentation slides and other optional supplementary files will be accepted only as appendices to the complete text of your paper or report.
  • If you have multiple files to submit, please use WinZip or Stuffit to create one file. Instructions for using the software may be found in the respective Help files for Winzip and Stuffit.
  • Narrative or structured abstract summarizing your submission (see Narrative Abstract Guidelines or Structured Abstract Guidelines).

When you have completed your submission, an ERIC document selection expert will review your material in accordance with the Screening Criteria for non-journal material. You can check the status of your submission in My ERIC.
