Performance Assessment Department
The Performance Assessment Department serves as the independent performance assessment agent for warfare and combat systems, Battle Force programs, Joint Warfare programs, and related Battle Force interoperability. Joint Forces designs, develops and implements the criteria, procedures, techniques, and analysis methodology for assessing and monitoring joint systems performance and interoperability.
Independent Performance Assessment
- Provides missile flight analysis for Area Defense, Self Defense, and Strike Warfare.
- Provides engineering analysis and liaison efforts to support and assess major fleet exercises.
- Develops, operates and maintains communications, computing and instrumentation systems required for the collection, analysis and dissemination of performance assessment data.
- Provides assessment of current threats and trends to predict future threat capabilities.
- Conducts analysis of aggregate test data and provides leadership with indices of combat readiness and identification of performance limiters and drivers.
Joint Systems Performance and Interoperability
- Serves as Homeland Air Defense Assessment Agent for Joint Theater Air and Missile Defense Organization (JTAMDO).
- Maintains performance databases for force level and interoperability performance.
Data Management and Analysis
- JFAD develops advanced data management and analysis capabilities to support emerging combat system baseline upgrades, new capabilities, and new engagement techniques.
- Provides data management and in-depth engineering analysis support for Air, Surface, and Ballistic Missile Defense testing during developmental and Operational Testing (DT and OT) Programs, Fleet In-Service Training exercises, and other testing events as requested.
