U.S. Passports

New! The U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong now accepts adult passport renewal and additional pages applications by mail.

In order to take advantage of this service, you must be physically present and have a mailing address in Hong Kong or Macau and be able to submit your current passport with your application. Processing for new passports will be approximately 10 working days and for additional pages, approximately 5 working days. For additional requirements click on one of the links below:

Passport rules have changed significantly in the past few years, and your application method, and the requirements for a new passport, will vary considerably depending on your age and circumstances. Please choose a category below to begin.

The U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong processes U.S. passport applications by appointment only during the normal business hours of the American Citizens Services Unit. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am to Noon and 1:30pm to 4:00pm. The exceptions are Wednesday afternoons - when the office will close at Noon. Also, the entire Consulate, including this office, will be closed on U.S.A. and Hong Kong public holidays. Notices about closures will be posted on Hours and Holidays.
