American Citizen Services (ACS)

Consular services at the U.S. Consulate General in Alexandria have been suspended temporarily.  U.S. citizens requiring assistance with passports, reports of birth, notarials, voting or other matters should consult the Embassy’s website for information on requirements and appointments in Cairo.  For further information, U.S. citizens may call the Embassy’s American Citizen Services Unit at 2797-2301 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday or e-mail the American Citizen Services Unit at: consularcairoacs@state.gov.

For emergencies and after hours/holidays, please contact the Embassy switch board at 2797-3300.   

No Visa Services

The U.S. Consulate does not offer visa services in Alexandria.  All visa appointments must be made through U.S. Embassy Cairo.  See the Embassy website for more information.
