The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit of the Consular Section assists American citizens in U.S. Consulate General Surabaya’s consular district. The consular district consists of twelve provinces, including Bali, East Java, Sulawesi, West Timor, Nusa Tenggara Barat and Nusa Tenggara Timur, and the Malukus. The unit provides a variety of routine and emergency services including:

• Arrests & Detentions
• Deaths
• Emergency Funds
• Hospitalizations

The Consulate is closed on Saturdays and Sundays and on American and local holidays.

Payment for Consular Services

Consular fees for American citizen services such as passports, reports of birth, and notary services may be paid either in Indonesian Rupiah or by credit card at the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya. 

• The Consulate accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards.
• Credit Card payments must be tendered in person.
• All credit card transactions are processed in U.S. dollars.
