South America Regional Environment Office

South America Regional Environment Office

The South America Regional Environmental Affairs Office (HUB) is located in the U.S. Embassy in Peru. This office, one of twelve in the world, helps to coordinate ESTH activities among the U.S. embassies in South America and OES in Washington. Of principle importance to the HUB are key Administration priorities, such as reducing greenhouse gases and stimulating the creation of low carbon economies.  The REO pays special attention to trans-boundary issues, such as shared ecosystems and river basins, and environmental and health challenges that transcend borders.
