Salary:               Ordinarily Resident (OR): $221,877.50 pesos per year (FSN-7 starting salary) 
Ordinarily Resident (OR): $177,424.34 pesos per year (FSN-6 starting salary)

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico City is seeking an individual for the position of Allowances Voucher Examiner in the Financial Management Center (FMC).

Basic Function of Position

The employee is responsible for processing accurately, in a timely manner and within ICASS standards, a wide range of vouchers for serviced and non-serviced agencies which include, but are not limited to the following types: IVA, allowances, and Journal Vouchers.  In addition, the employee is responsible for reconciling accounts and for developing and maintaining various spreadsheets as needed in the reconciliation process.  The employee must be thoroughly familiar with information and appropriateness of the expense as well as each agency’s complicated accounting systems and be able to spot errors within the fiscal strip code on the documents.  In addition, the employee is responsible for the completion of any other tasks, special projects or assignment as required by FMC.

Qualifications

- University degree in accounting, auditing, finance, administration, or economics required.
- Two years of experience in one or more aspects of financial management, or a work environment that includes an aptitude for figures and/or detail-related duties.
- Level III (Good Working Knowledge) English and Spanish (speak/read/write) required. (Please see section “To Apply” on pg 2 for test instructions).
- Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office, especially Excel.  (This will be tested).

-  Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
-  All Locally Employed Staff (LES) who have less than one year working in a position are not eligible to apply.
