Spring Program 2001
The Spring Program is a part of the NOAA Hazardous Weather Testbed.
Science Support Area

16 April - 8 June 2001

Forecasters and scientists from the Storm Prediction Center, National Severe Storms Laboratory, and other NWS/NOAA agencies will be participating in a Spring Research Program to explore ways of improving short term forecasts of convective initiation and evolution, directly leading to increased projection time in SPC severe local storm watches.

Forecast operations will be conducted M-Th from 17 April through 8 June 2001.

In addition to the creation of daily forecast products and evaluation exercises, a daily MAP DISCUSSION and review of previous day verification will be held daily at 1:00pm CDT in the Science Support Area. The map discussion is open to all Weather Center staff.
