COMMISSION MEETINGS

LITIGATION

SpeechNow.org v. Federal Election Commission. On March 26, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit issued its opinion

Republican National Committee v. Federal Election Commission. On March 26, a three-judge panel of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia issued its opinion.

The Real Truth About Obama, Inc. v. Federal Election Commission. On March 24, United States Solicitor General Elena Kagan filed a brief with the United States Supreme Court in The Real Truth About Obama, Inc. v. Federal Election Commission.

RULEMAKING AND AGENCY PROCEDURES

The Commission posted three comments received in response to a request at the March 2-3 hearing on the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Coordinated Communications and Supplemental Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Coordinated Communications.

CONFERENCES

On March 23-24, the FEC hosted a Regional Conference for Campaigns, Party Committees and Corporate/Labor/Trade PACs in New Orleans, LA. This conference was previously scheduled for February 9-10.

OUTREACH

On March 25, 12 Seattle University students visited the FEC for a presentation on the FEC's operations and for a tour of the Public Records office. Communications Specialist Christopher Berg and Public Affairs Specialist Jason Bucelato spoke to the students.
