SMS Alert
The SMS Alert System is a supplement to our e-mail warden system. This system will send the Consular Section’s message directly to your mobile phone via SMS text message. American citizens will need to reference their e-mail or the Embassy’s webpage for more detailed information.
The SMS Alert System is free. In order to enroll, you must send us your mobile phone number via e-mail to acsbamako@state.gov with the subject line “Add Me to SMS.”
At any point, you can choose to leave the SMS Alert System. All you need to do is send an e-mail to acsbamako@state.gov with the subject line “Remove Me from SMS.”
If you do not wish to receive SMS warden messages, you will continue to receive warden messages via e-mail.
