Senator Boxer visits SR 905 construction site, an important project for goods movement along the U.S. Mexico border, funded partially by funds received from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Outline of plans to realign and extend State Route 905.  When completed, SR 905 will provide an essential freeway connection to move people and goods across the U.S.-Mexico border to access international, regional, and local markets. 
Senator Boxer is briefed by Caltrans on the progress of State Route 905.  Pictured with her are San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders, Escondido Mayor and Chair of the San Diego Association of Governments Lori Holt Pfeiler, Caltrans District Director Laurie Berman, and Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Alejandra Mier y Teran.
Senator Boxer speaks about federal investment in freeways, highways and roads, for job and economic growth.  She also praised the progress of State Route 905.  The segment Boxer visited is funded largely by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  The entire project is expected to create about 1,400 jobs in San Diego County.
