CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT NINA R. WATKINS

Chief Master Sergeant Nina R. Watkins is the Command Chief for the 927th Air Refueling Wing, MacDill AFB, Florida. Chief Watkins advises the wing commander on matters relating to the health, morale, welfare and the effective utilization of enlisted members of the wing and serves as the commander's representative on committees, councils, boards and military and civilian functions. She also serves as liaison and spokesperson for the enlisted force to the commander.

Chief Watkins is a native Floridian born in Miami, Florida. She entered the United States Air Force Reserve in 1985 and after completing basic training and technical school; she was assigned to Homestead Air Force Base, Florida as an administration specialist. Her career progression includes positions at various levels in administration and personnel management, as wing career advisor and first sergeant. Chief Watkins has spent her entire career in the Air Force Reserve as a traditional reservist. Her last position prior to becoming the command chief was as the First Sergeant assigned to the 920th Mission Support Squadron, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. In this position, she was responsible for advising commanders on matters influencing the health, morale, welfare, mentoring, career progression, professional development, recognition of enlisted members, and providing leadership and guidance to airmen. In January 2010, she accepted her current position as the 927th Air Refueling Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant.
