EDA Commemorates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Goodwill Industries Ohana Career and Learning Center in Hawaii American Samoa Marketplace near Pago Pago, AS CNMI Island of Saipan

EDA awarded Goodwill Industries $1 million to build the Ohana Career and Learning Center on the island of Oahu, near the town of Makakilo, Hawaii. The Center, which opened in April 2010, offers a wide range of job training, skill building, and employment placement programs to more than 1,500 clients annually.

EDA invested $2.1 million in the American Samoa Marketplace near Pago Pago, AS to construct a small business incubator.

Earlier this month, EDA invested $1.5 million to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Water Task Force on the Island of Saipan to make infrastructure improvements to the water system that supplies the Garapan tourist area.
