Civil Society Grants in Support of FFF

2012 BMENA Initiative logo

The Middle East Partnership Initiative supports civil society reform initiatives that advance the goals and objectives of the Broader Middle East and North Africa (BMENA) Initiative and the Forum for the Future (FFF).  We do this through civil society grants to organizations that have been involved in the BMENA Initiative and FFF.

FFF represents a critical opportunity for civil society leaders to work with their governments to outline key recommendations towards creating participatory, pluralistic, and prosperous societies in the BMENA region.

Through civil society grants, MEPI intends to sustain the momentum and role of civil society in the FFF process.  Civil society grants are available for activities in multiple countries and are subject to a maximum $150,000 limit. Preference will be given to organizations and coalitions of organizations that have previously participated in any aspect of the BMENA process, such as past BMENA symposia, civil society parallel forum meetings, regional workshops, or the FFF ministerial.  Applications are accepted in response to a publicly-available Request for Applications (RFA) issued by the U.S. Department of State. To view the most recent RFA applicable to this funding opportunity, please click here (PDF-350 kb).  The application period for grants to be awarded in 2012 is closed.
