U.S. Embassy Niamey, Niger

Message to U.S. Citizens– Nigerien Census

 December 13, 2012

This message is to inform U.S. citizens that the Government of Niger is currently conducting a nationwide census in which census takers will be visiting each household in the country.  The Embassy recommends that you cooperate fully with the census takers.  Common practice is to invite the census takers into one’s home to answer their questions.  All census takers should have an identification card identifying them as “agent recenseur,” “superviseur,” or “contrôleur” as shown in the attached photo.  Please ask to see identification when a census taker visits your home.
