The Science Corner, the result of a partnership between the U.S. Embassy in Brazil and the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in science and technology, offering information support to-Brazilian scientists and researchers and everyone who is interested in science.

Located at the CNPq headquarters in Brasilia, the Science Corner provides access to scientific books, magazines, DVDs, online databases, software and workstations selected to support the efforts of research and teaching on various topics such as envi-ronment, sustainable energy, health and agro-science. It also provides a space to hold exhibitions.

Science Corners already exist in seven Latin American countries, including Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ecuador, Trinidad and Tobago, and Uruguay, and more Science Corners will open in other Brazilian cities in 2013.

The Science Corner Brasília will promote activities such as lectures, video conferences, exhibitions and a broad scientific program, to create a dialogue about science between Brazilians and Americans.
