While walk-in service requests are no longer accepted, the American Citizen Services Unit does not require appointments for emergencies. Emergencies may include, but are not limited to, loss or theft of passport, denial of freedom to travel, medical or financial emergencies, etc. If you are a U.S. citizen with an after-hours emergency, please call (880) (2) 885-5500, press ‘0’ and ask to speak to the duty officer. Emergency American services are available 24 hours and day, 7 days a week.
American Citizen Services will still be available during window-hours for document delivery cases (i.e. passports, federal benefits). An appointment is not required for these services. The window-hours are from Sunday through Thursday from 1300 – 1600 hours, except for American and Bangladeshi holidays.

Those
attempting to access the Consular Section should come to the Madani
Avenue (north) side of the Embassy and enter the Embassy through Gate 2
near Park Road.
Important Access Information
Embassy security procedures require that all visitors submit to a security inspection. No luggage, electronic or photographic equipment is permitted in our waiting room or on other Embassy premises. We strongly urge individuals planning to visit the U.S. Embassy to leave all electronic devices, including cell phones at home on the day you intend to visit the U.S. Embassy. The U.S. Embassy assumes no responsibility for prohibited items that are required to be left outside of the Embassy.
