Immigrant Visas

The Consular Section of the US Consulate in Dubai has transitioned to a new appointment service for applicants applying for a visa to come to the United States. Information regarding different types of visa, applying for a US visa and the requirements to qualify for those visas can be found here.

In the UAE, immigrant visas are processed only at the Embassy in Abu Dhabi. The Consulate General in Dubai does not process immigrant visas. Immigrant visas entitle the recipients to permanent resident status in the United States. Permanent residents, or "Green Card" holders, may live and work in the U.S. They may also eventually "naturalize" to become U.S. citizens, if they so desire.

Inquiries should be directed to the Immigrant Visa Unit at the Embassy at 02-414-2200 ext. 2333 or emailed to abudhabiIV@state.gov.

For general information on Immigrant Visas & Fiancé(e) Visas, please refer to the Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly INS) website at http://uscis.gov.
