Diversity Visa Lottery 2014

The DV 2014 program will run between noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4), Tuesday, October 2, 2012, and noon, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4), Saturday, November 3, 2012.  Applicants  may access the electronic DV Entry Form (E-DV) in the Departement of State diversity lottery site during the registration period. To access the DV 2014 instructions, visit the Department of State travel site.  

The Congressionally mandated Diversity Immigrant Visa Program makes available 50,000 permanent resident visas annually, drawn from random selection among all entries to persons who meet strict eligibility requirements from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. The program, designed to bring greater racial and ethnic diversity to the United States, offers permanent residency visas to citizens who apply. Persons seeking to enter the lottery program must register online through the designated Web site on http://www.dvlottery.state.gov during the registration period. Registration is free of charge.

DV Lottery 2013: The results are now available

If you answered "YES" to both questions, you may now check the results on the department of State Diversity lottery site.  Further instructions will be given ONLY to those who have been selected.  Forms and further information on the visa procedure in general are available in the Department of State travel site.  

IMPORTANT NOTICE

There have been instances of fraudulent websites posing as official U.S. Government sites. Some companies posing as the U.S. Government have sought money in order to "complete" lottery entry forms.  There is no charge to complete and submit the Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form.  Starting with the DV 2012 session, notifications will NO LONGER be by mail.  Applicants who enter the DV lottery will need to monitor their status using the registration confirmation number.
