The American Citizen Service Unit at the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Honduras assists individuals with matters involving the Social Security Administration, Veterans Affairs, Office of Personnel Management, and the Railroad Retirement Board.

Social Security Administration

Honduras is a "Nonclaims-taking Post", this means that its staff is not fully trained in SSA policies and procedures, but will be happy to assist individuals by providing forms, general information, forwarding your claims to the Social Security Administration, and placing calls directly to the Social Security Administration.  We will also assist with Direct Deposit issues and distribution of checks.

Veterans Affairs

Our office will be happy to provide forms, general information, forward your claims to Veterans Affairs, arrange medical appointments, and follow up with Veterans Affairs on individual cases when necessary.

Office of Personnel Management

Office of Personnel Management deals with payments for annuitants covered by the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) and the Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS) who are residing abroad.  Our office will be happy to assist in providing forms, forwarding your claims, placing calls with the Office of Personnel Management, and following up with Office of Personnel Management when necessary.  Will also assist with Direct Deposit issues and distribution of checks.

Railroad Retirement Board

The Railroad Retirement Board's mission is to administer retirement/survivor and unemployment/sickness insurance benefit programs for railroad workers and their families under the Railroad Retirement Act and the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act.  Our office will be happy to assist you in placing calls with the Railroad Retirement Board and will also assist with Direct Deposit issues and distribution of checks.
