Test at AEDC helping determine feasibility of high energy lasers for the warfighter

The gap between the AEDC Aerodynamic and Propulsion Test Unit’s nozzle and diffuser was widened to 54 inches in order to increase flexibility during Air Force Research Laboratory testing and allow more of the test article. Before making the modification, AEDC engineers used Computational Fluid Dynamics to ensure the work would not affect the test.
