High School Completion

The Navy has programs to help you complete your high school education and get on the road to a college degree.

The Navy encourages young people to remain in high school and graduate before enlisting in the Navy. However, through the Navy College Program, a non-high school graduate can earn a diploma or high school equivalency certificate while on active duty.

  • Many Navy installations have high school completion courses both on and off base, with the Navy paying 100 percent of the cost.
  • High school completion can also be accomplished by passing a GED examination. Check with your local Navy College Office for additional information.
  • For additional information on the GED check the GED Testing Service
