A wise man once said “If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself.” Actually, no matter your age, you may be able to improve your health if you move more and eat better.
Hi, I’m Dr. Griffin Rodgers, bringing you Healthy Moments from the NIH. I’m the Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
Even if you’ve never been on a fitness plan, it’s not too late to start moving more. Physical activity may help you manage health problems like arthritis and diabetes.
Try to do at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity on most days. Also, try to do strengthening activities two or three times a week.
For a healthy eating plan, choose more fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. Also, limit your intake of fat, sugar, and salt.
And for more tips, visit our website at NIDDK or MyMajicDC.com . This is Dr. Griffin Rodgers. Join me next week for more Healthy Moments.
