Aloha and Welcome!
Congratulations on your assignment to Troop Command. It is with great pleasure and pride we welcome
you to Hawaii and Tripler Army Medical Center. You have joined the ranks of the best medical command
in the Army, with a long and distinctive history where soldiers and their families enjoy being a part
of something special.
We are a unique organization composed of a Headquarters staff, A Co, B Co, C Co (U.S. Army Health
Clinic-Schofield Barracks), and D Co (Student Company). We are truly a unit of diversity which
enables us to provide a full spectrum of world class health services to all military beneficiaries
in the Pacific region and a medical force to support full spectrum operations throughout the world.
Hawaii is a place of sunshine, incredible beaches and a feeling of ohana (family). As you respect
the native history and traditions, we hope that you too will be able to feel the warmth that service
and life in Hawaii provides physically and spiritually. From the great swells of the North Shore,
to the fantastic tropical waterfalls of Molokai, to the pristine beaches of Maui, we encourage you
to take advantage of the many natural beauties that Hawaii has to offer.
While PCSing to Hawaii, like any overseas assignment, is challenging and you may not know what
questions to ask, visiting
http://www.garrison.hawaii.army.mil/newcomers.htm and
http://himwr.com/support-services/relocating-to-hawaii
are good places to start. Here you will find links to Island Palm Communities (on-post housing),
information on local education, child care and much more. I also encourage you to visit
http://www.tamc.amedd.army.mil for
answers to specific questions about this great organization.
Again, it is great to have you on the team. We look forward to serving with you and your family.
