The Sollars Community is invested in providing students the opportunity to excel academically, achieve individual goals, and build character through a diverse and balanced education.

Sollars Pledge to Students

School Accreditation

Sollars Elementary School is accredited by AdvancEd/NCA-CASI .
This accrediting agency requires a thorough visit and inspection by team members every five years. Sollars ES is accredited each school year based on the school’s participation in the implementation of the school improvement plan. Sollars underwent the accreditation cycle review in March of 2009. We successfully achieved the AdvancEd/NCA-CASI accreditation credentials accompanied with accolades from the review team members on a job well done.

Brief Biography of Lt. Col. John A. Sollars

Sollars Elementary School was dedicated to Lt. Col. John A. Sollars in 1962. Lt. Col. Sollars was a pilot who died in a crash on 19 December 1961 after ejecting from his crippled F – 100 Super Sabre. Col. Sollars avoided crashing in a populated area and waited to clear the town before he ejected. In May of 1962 Misawa Elementary School was renamed to honor Colonel John A. Sollars.

Our School Building

Our current school building was completed in 1998 and currently serves approximately 700 students in grades PreK-6. Sollars ES has 31 classroom, Art, Music, PE, and host nation classes. We have a cafeteria, gym, information center, administrative offices, a large play with with basketball courts, a baseball diamond, and a separate playground for kindergarten and Pre-K use.
