Welcome to American Citizen Services

The American Citizen Services (ACS) is a part of Consular Services at the U.S. Embassy in Mbabane. Assistance is provided to U.S. citizens residing in or visiting Swaziland, including but not limited to U.S. Passport and extra visa page services, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and Notarials. The Embassy also assists in emergency situations, including deaths, arrests and crisis situations.

• Issue reports of birth abroad to U.S. citizen children born in Swaziland
• Provide absentee voting assistance and information
• Give information on Social Security and Veterans' benefits
• How to get income tax forms,
• notarizing documents
• Assist Americans living or traveling in Swaziland with signing up for "the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program."
• Provide adoption information
• Provide birth and death certificates
• Offer judicial assistance by providing a list of available lawyers
• Assist in emergencies and providing a list of medical doctors
• Offer federal benefits information

Note to All U.S. Citizens

U.S. citizens living or traveling in Swaziland are encouraged to sign up for the "Smart Traveler Enrollment Program" online at  www.travel.state.gov. By signing up, U.S. citizens make it easier for the Embassy to contact them in case of emergency, and will receive updated information on travel and security within Swaziland.

Office Hours

The ACS unit is open to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 2:00 PM - 5:00 p.m. by appointment:  http://evisaforms.state.gov/ACSSchedulingSystem.asp.  Emergency services are available by calling the Embassy during business hours (268) 2404-6441/5, or the Embassy Duty Officer after hours and on weekends at (268) 7602-8414. We are closed to the public on both Swazi and U.S. holidays.
