  • The collections are organized the way they were received and are not re-arranged to fit a specific filing scheme.

  • There are millions of textual pages available to the public, and researching the collections can be difficult and tedious.

Researching the Materials

  • Prior to researching a topic, it helps to have some knowledge about the topic, such as dates and names. Use the bibliography, timeline, and biography.

  • Use this web site to identify the materials you will need to conduct your research.

  • The Nixon staff can point you in the right research direction, but cannot perform substantive research for you.

Textual Materials Finding Aids

Finding Aids for textual materials consist of brief descriptions of file segments and folder title lists for each collection.

  • Use the Textual Finding Aids to locate relevant file segments.

  • The Archival Research Catalog (ARC) contains reference information and digital images of select textual materials.

Obtaining the Textual Materials

Materials are only available to the public in our Research Rooms. The documents cannot be checked out by the public, nor are they available for loan to other research institutions.
