AFMES mission is to operate a system that provides comprehensive services in forensic pathology, forensic toxicology, DNA technology and identification, and mortality surveillance for the Department of Defense.
The office of the Armed Forces medical examiners is the center of medical-legal investigations providing a complete multi-faceted forensic investigation. AFMES provide worldwide scientific consultation, research and education services in the field of forensic DNA analysis.
