2/12/2013 - U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- The Air Force Academy Diversity Office seeks rising two-degrees to join the Academy's Ambassadors of Inclusion program by submitting applications by noon Feb. 19.
The AOI program affords cadets entering their junior year an opportunity to shadow executives in multinational firms in foreign countries and learn about the impact of national culture on organizational culture.
The summer 2013 AOI pilot program will take place during the third summer period.
Participants will observe how selected multinational corporate organizations recognizing and achieve diversity and inclusion, grapple with organizational challenges in a global marketplace and work in environments were diverse individuals work across different national cultures. Participants will gain competencies in cross-cultural management, diversity leadership, and inclusion management.
The Academy's chief diversity officer, Dr. Adis Maria Vila, will select 12 cadets: 10 primary candidates and two alternates. Cadets will travel in pairs to one of five multinational companies to experience a different national and organizational culture.
Selected cadets must remain in good standing and complete and deliver both printed and electronic versions of their applications to the Diversity Office on the third floor of Harmon Hall by noon Tuesday.
Electronic applications have been sent to the Class of 2015 via email. Cadets who do not have an application may get one from their air officer commanding or Academy military training NCO. Electronic copies of completed applications should be sent to usafa.cdo.taskers@usafa.edu.
